Trees in Aug 2006 |
Some of our best trees in August 06. The grass had grown to near 5ft
tall (we daren't cut it for fear of damaging the trees), and turned
straw coloured. Almost all the trees were looking a healthy green,
showing their roots had got down to near the water table (about 2 foot
down). The secret is to keep one meter square of bare earth round each
tree, by hoeing all 308 trees once a week during the main grass growing
season.
