Oak Maze

    With the oak plantation surrounded by deer fencing, the grass inside grows very long in the summer. To inspect all 250 oaks, it is necessary to drive past each tree (it is too far for the author to walk at his advanced age). If these tracks can be kept open with regular driving, then leafing and general health of all the oaks can be kept under regular observation.

    The identity of each row A-Zc is displayed by laminated cards on posts at columns 3 and 6, and on the deer fence posts.

    Heavily used tracks are shown MMMMMMMM (Motorway).
    Lightly used tracks are shown AAAAAAAA (A-road).
    Most of the lightly used tracks were grass-cut on 18jul2013 by "James"

Oak Maze

7 acre rectangular pasture field, top=East. Both GATES are kept LOCKED.
Deer-fenced Area=276x74=20,327 sq m=2.03 hect=5.0 acres. Tracks total 2,500m.
All oaks were acorns collected from under Major Oak, Sherwood Forest, 2000 AD
257 oaks on 5 May 2010. Upper case=OAK, w=willow, ash=ash, co=conker, sp=spindle,
bi=birch, asp=aspen, Pm=poplar male, Pf=poplar female. Tracks: MAIN,Secondary,
